Exclusive interview with Lee Pitts Live on CW-6!
Quantavis Levon Jackson, who is he?
—hmm, that’s an ever changing answer. One that would leave too much for imagination and too little for concrete understanding. I guess, he is poetry; and a true poet in that sense….
Born in Fort Myers Florida, along with his twin brother, Shawn Jackson. Quantavis was named by his late uncle, Gregory Levon McDonald Sr.
Quan describes his upbringing closely to the name that he was given at birth; “something that you have to grow through.”
Similar to a butterfly, starting out as a caterpillar he recounts how he always had a unique relationship with words. In his earlier years, Quan would struggle with them, so much so that finding or even pronouncing common words were a struggle. He openly tells the stories about his battles with biscuits and baskets, rubber bands and bandaids and his parents needing to be his translators through elementary school. Quan, acknowledges that his struggles with words early-on would dictate and create the penchant for them, today. He, also credits a lot of his success to speech therapy and his families support to challenge him throughout his adolescence.
A proud academic and alum of Gardner-Webb University. He is a new bestselling author of “Unfinished Paintings” & “The Day I Sold My Soles” which were both, literary collections of spoken word poems, poetry and prose. Through his writing, Quan has turned his love for words into a career as an international spoken word artist, a motivational speaker, an actor, and a CEO of a brand with Whale Written Productions.
He is a writer in every sense, with goals to create original screenplays for tv as well as theater— currently working on his debut novel “Tree: The Relationship That Grew From A Seed” as well as an audio album of poetry which is titled “Please Hold Your Applause.”
Residing in Dallas Texas, since 2021 Quan and his dog, Uro, enjoy exploring the wondrous landscape that Texas has to offer and can be found indulging in the art scene all over the DFW metroplex.
